What do Marketers Think of You?

Who doesn’t love a good survey that classifies you into one of nine general categories for the purposes of being understood by marketers? God knows I do!

VALs (values, attitudes and lifestyles) is a categorizing system used by marketers to segment the general demographic into groups. There are nine groups in total, each one different in regards to availability of resources and innovation. Different brands seek different groups based on their values, attitudes and lifestyles. Marketers then try to position their brand with the segments that would appreciate their product and brand message most favourably.

Perhaps take a minute out of your day to do this survey and find out for yourself what segment you fall into. As for me? I’m an INNOVATOR/EXPERIENCER. Top of the food-chain as it were. No big deal. That being said, there are those days I have to recite the “Bunny Ears” poem just to remind myself how to tie my shoes. So, perhaps the survey does have a slight margin of error.

Take the VALs survey here. Good luck and god speed.
